Limited-edition Google Desktop developer patches

Friday, July 27, 2007 at 2:25 PM

As a gadget developer for Google Desktop, you can play a big part in making Google Desktop more useful and exciting for our diverse community of users. The dynamic and innovative gadgets you create help personalize the Desktop experience and also inspire others to make their own unique gadgets.

We really appreciate all the effort you put into expanding the world of Google Desktop, and we'd like to reward your hard work with a limited-edition patch. For each gadget you submit that is included in our gallery, we'll send you a patch like this one:

UPDATE (October, 2007): Our rewards have changed a bit. Instead of one patch per gadget, your first gadget submission nets you a developer appreciation package that includes a patch. Subsequent submissions give you a shot at other rewards.

As your talents grow and you reach new levels of gadget mastery, you may have the opportunity to obtain different and more specialized patches, as well.

Whether you choose to sew your patch to a backpack or jacket, or simply hang it over your desk, we hope you'll enjoy and proudly display this recognition of your achievement.

Cool, developers can compare decorations (and compete for them), especially if new ones are on the way :D

Google "flair"!

STAN
Now, it's up to you whether or not you want to just do the bare minimum. Well, like Brian, for example, has 37 pieces of flair. And a terrific smile.

JOANNA
Ok. Ok, you want me to wear more?

STAN
Look. Joanna.

JOANNA
Yeah.

STAN
People can get a cheeseburger anywhere, ok? They come to Chotchkie's for the atmosphere and the attitude. That's what the flair's about. It's about fun.
