Posted by James Yum, Developer Programs Engineer (Google Desktop Team)We're happy to announce that the Time Around the World and Twitter gadgets are now open source under Apache License 2.0. We've also open sourced the trusty standbys Digital Clock and Battery Meter.
These gadgets are widely used and have the potential to become even more popular with your help.
We're asking all of you in the open source community to contribute to whatever project you may be interested in. Be sure to check out the complete list of open source gadgets. To request membership in a project, send an email to gd-developer AT google DOT com.
We are also looking for experienced developers to take the role of coordinators for the Google Desktop open source gadgets. As coordinator, you are the primary maintainer of the gadget and in charge of prioritizing feature additions. As a bonus, coordinators (and their websites) are recognized and mentioned in the gadget description.
